Nanoha Innocents Chapter 1

The first chapter of Nanoha Innocents, in which Teana reveals that she has made a very big misunderstanding.

So we're finally into volumes that were released this year! (Right before the end of the year, unfortunately.) I like to think that's a sign of progress.

I tried many different things to try and cover up the background of Teana's monolouge there, but they all look equally horrible, so that's unfortunate.

Anyways, leave feedback below. And remember to purchase a copy of the original volumes if you can to support the author.

  1. some part Teana saying he to Sabaru instead saying she

  2. @Unknown that's because she initially believes that Subaru is a boy

    1. You know, with Subaru.... that is not a hard error to make.

  3. Am I correct in assuming Subaru used a feminine first-person pronoun on the last page?

You should probably mention it in a footnote if she did.

    1. She does not, actually. That's in about another hundred pages or so.

I'll probably go into more detail when it finally does happen, but the whole situation is probably much funnier in Japanese than it will end up seeming through my translation.

    2. Hmm, I also though that she used feminine and Teana's realization she is a lesbian now led to that "WHaaaaaat?!"

  4. This is awesome, thanks for the release. By the way could you please add more mirror download? Mediafire hate me (very slow download speed compared others sites).

  5. On page 10 it says "off course" instead of "of course". On page 11 it should be "Nove and they", not "Nove and them". And this is a personal bias I guess, but shouldn't all the names be in western order like they are on the cards?

  6. a little typo on page 14, lower right panel: "bunch of freinds"
    (and thanks~)

  7. . . . wait.

You've been going to school with this kid this entire time and never realized that she was a girl?

    1. Partially that's courtesy of Fun With Pronouns. Japanese has gendered pronouns, but people are regularly referred to with gender-neutral pronouns. So it's entirely possible that no one has referred to Subaru with a feminine pronoun in Teana's hearing.

Also Subaru looks rather boyish and possesses traditionally masculine interests in food, sports, and girls.
